![]() Natural Aesthetics with Metal-Free Restorations in Combination
with Belgian Chocolate
Instructor: Luc Rutten, M.D.T. (Visiting from Tessenderlo,
Belgium)
Dates: December 3-4, 2006
Course Description
The course will begin with a lecture on the theory of tooth selection of the new Vita 3D Master shade guide. All the possibilities of full ceramic restorations in general and the new VM 7 porcelain of the Vita company for alumina copings or the VM 9 for the zirconia copings will be shown in detail with many practical cases. To take aesthetics into consideration, the restoration has to be in harmony with the soft tissue. Devotion to aesthetics combined with technical skills will lead to aesthetically predictable justified restorations. Participants will manufacture three alumina copings on the course model. For the hands-on portion of the course three crowns will be built up: a central, a lateral and a canine. Prior to the build up, a tooth selection with one of the participants will be taught and explained and then that situation will be copied during the course. On the build up we will need opacity, translucency and color. Value, chroma and hue will be explained in theory. These three very important topics will follow us during the two days. We will achieve a better communication between the person in the practice who determines the shade and the dental technician who must reproduce it. This ideal is simplified and the capacity of a precise color match is significantly increased. In the practical portion, Luc will demonstrate the build up and layering technique of the chosen teeth. A natural looking anatomical shape of the restoration will lead to a better natural looking gingiva. The different types of texture will be shown as well as the different types of luster. After the firing glaze, a manual polishing will enhance the natural aspect of the full ceramic restoration. This course will bring you immediately to the point without compromise that "time is money" and will lead to better looking natural restorations in no time. The different steps in aesthetic analysis combined with the technical execution will satisfy patients with high expectations. Themes: Course Package Information
