Occlusion of the 21st Century: Advanced & Evidenced-based - A Career and Practice Changer
March 24 - 25, 2023
Course Overview
This 2-day dental course covers the understanding of Occlusion, Function, TMJ, Diagnosis and Treatment planning, and Interdisciplinary Dentistry.
This occlusion course is targeted to the restorative dentists, dental technicians, and prosthodontists, who are the quarterback in the occlusion driven treatment approach, and who are the main responsible dentists for the patients. This occlusion course is also targeted to the specialists of all dental disciplines, surgeons and orthodontists, to understand the diagnostic occlusion criteria and occlusion treatment goals, and to orthodontists looking for new treatment options avoiding orthognathic surgery and premolar extractions.
To achieve successful, long-term stable dental treatment, occlusion parameters must be in harmony with mandibular function. Teeth dictate mandibular position and mandibular function, and these two parameters play the key role for dental health and long-term success in dental work. But also, physical symptoms are related to tooth dictated mandibular position and restricted function.
The terms Craniomandibular Dentistry and Occlusion Medicine describe very well the impact the dental profession has on teeth and their surrounding structures, but also on the musculo-skeletal system and the entire human body.

I came into this course wanting to improve my knowledge of occlusion concepts and prevent failures in dentistry. I believe this course has provided ready-to-implement techniques that I can immediately implement and improve outcomes for my patients
This course is designed for dentists who have been practicing for a number of years and feel that there is a big element missing in their practice, and they are willing to commit to get that knowledge! IDEA is The Best place to go through that level of education and gain the confidence. Thank you!
I've been to a few courses on occlusion and left with my mind more muddled than when I started the course. Having taken this part of the Continuum with Professor Sato and Dr. Kramer has certainly helped me demystify some of the most challenging aspects of occlusion. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel
This course has completely changed my understanding of what's possible in dentistry. Great introduction into Slavicek-Sato treatment philosophy that left me eager to learn more
This is a uniquely wonderful course. Our profession must become more aware of the value of functional diagnosis of our patients. This course empowers its students in a way that is far superior to any other program I have found. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and kind.
Finally, I have the solution for my patients. No matter how hard your cases might be, Slavicek and Sato concept and technology will help you!
